The 1st ESSF Open Educational Games / U18 took place in Olympia and Athens, Greece, in 2024, combining education and sport in a unique event. It provided students with the opportunity to explore the social and personal impact of sport while promoting inclusion and mutual understanding among young participants.

Through interactive workshops led by distinguished scientists and sport figures, innovative unified sports activities, and guided visits to historic sites such as Ancient Olympia and the Acropolis, participants deepened their knowledge of sport values, history, and culture. They also took part in significant sporting rituals, including the Olympic Flame Lighting and Torch Relay.

Organized by the European School Sport Federation (ESSF) and the Panhellenic Union of Sport Scientists (PEPFA), in collaboration with various regions, municipalities, and institutions, the event was fully unified, bringing together school pupils and Special Olympics athletes in a non-competitive setting.
