EPRIME Project – Empowering Physical Education Through Innovation

As the EPRIME project—co-financed by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ programme, reaches its conclusion, we take pride in reflecting on the achievements, impact, and meaningful partnerships that have shaped the past 18 months of dedicated collaboration.
A Partnership for Change
The European School Sport Federation (ESSF) was honored to be one of the core partners in this transformative project, working alongside:
- SPIN Sport Innovation (Belgium)
- Hanze University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands)
- VUmc School of Medical Sciences (Netherlands)
- Fit Sport Austria (Austria)
- DGA Portugal (Portugal)
Together, we shared a vision: to empower physical education teachers across Europe with innovative tools, methods, and support to make PE classes more engaging, inclusive, and impactful.
Project Spotlight at the World Teacher Games The culmination of the project was celebrated at the World Teacher Games, held from May 5 to 10 in Toulon, France. This global event gathered 250 teachers from 25 countries, offering a unique platform to showcase the results of the EPRIME project.
During the International Conference, Janco Nolles from Hanze University (NL) delivered a powerful presentation of the project’s mission, vision, and key deliverables on behalf of all EPRIME partners.
Introducing the EPRIME Platform
One of the main outcomes of the project is the EPRIME online platform – a free educational tool designed for PE teachers, offering:
- 8 modules packed with practical solutions
- Instructional videos for immediate classroom use
- Strategies aimed at increasing student participation and motivation
We warmly invite PE teachers worldwide to explore the platform and share their feedback through a short questionnaire – your input matters and will help shape the future of PE education!
Thought Leadership and Global Recognition
The event also hosted notable figures who contributed inspiring insights.
We had the pleasure of meeting Ben Holden, who passionately emphasized the importance of early learning and recognized the transformative value of EPRIME’s tools.
Representatives from the Badminton World Federation introduced their remarkable development programme focused on inclusion, offering creative ways to engage all children in sport.
Additionally, José Amoroso presented innovative ideas using flying disc activities to involve children not typically engaged in traditional sports systems – a powerful approach to expanding access and participation.
Gratitude to the Organizers
Our sincere thanks go to Romain Fermon and his team, who successfully delivered the very first edition of the World Teacher Games. The event set a new standard for international collaboration and knowledge exchange in the field of physical education.
We look forward to continuing this journey of innovation and collaboration. See you next year with even more ideas, energy, and dedication to education through sport!
