ESSF Statement: Information Regarding the Initiative Titled “European School Games”
The European School Sport Federation (ESSF) would like to inform all its members, partners, and the broader school sport community about the recent appearance of an initiative titled “European School Games,” planned to take place in March 2026 in Poreč, Croatia.
We emphasize that this initiative is not affiliated with ESSF in any capacity, nor is it organized under our endorsement, supervision, or in cooperation with our federation.
The organizer is a private entity operating under the name “European School Games,” using visual elements that closely resemble the official ESSF. This can lead to confusion within the school sport community and among the general public, potentially creating the false impression that the event is an official European school sport competition.

 Why This Statement?

As the recognized European continental school sport body, ESSF feels it is its duty to inform and protect its members and partners from misleading or unauthorized activities that may attempt to benefit from the established structure, visibility, and trust associated with ESSF.
Since its founding, ESSF has been the only organization officially recognized by the International School Sport Federation (ISF) as the European body responsible for the development of school sport across the continent, in cooperation with national school sport organizations, educational and governmental institutions.

We kindly ask all national school sport federations and partners to share this information within your networks – including schools, local and regional bodies – to help prevent further dissemination of potentially misleading information.
