The European School Sport Federation (ESSF) is proud to partner in the Digital School Sport Day 2025, a full-day celebration of sport and digital engagement in Aalst, Belgium. Students from Don Bosco Halle TI, Don Bosco Halle Stem, and GO! Atheneum Aalst will take part in a variety of activities designed to inspire teamwork, inclusion, and healthy competition.

Event Locations

  • Location A – Sportcentrum Osbroek (Frans Blanckaertdreef, 9300 Aalst) – Athletics
    Track & Outdoor Basketball
  • Location B – Sportsite Schotte (Kapellekensbaan 8, 9230 Erembodegem-Aalst) – Chess, Dragon Boat Race, and Indoor Basketball (backup)

Full Day Program & Schedule

08:15 – 09:00 – Transport from Halle for Teams 1 & 2
08:30 – Team 3 walks from school to event locations

09:00 – 09:15 – Arrival & Welcome of All Teams

  • Check-in & equipment verification
  • Organizer briefing, distribution of T-shirts
  • Team photos, coffee & fruits

Athletics – 4x100m Relay (Location A – Osbroek)

  • 09:15 – 09:45 – General Warm-up
  • 10:00 – 10:45 – Relay Running Competition – Qualifications
  • 10:45 – 11:00 – Relay Running Competition – Finals
  • 11:00 – 11:15 – Results upload, validation & mini award ceremony
  • 11:15 – Departure of relay team to Location B (300 m walk). Outdoor skatepark
    available if weather allows.

Basketball Shooting Competition (Location A – Osbroek / Backup: Location B)

  • 09:15 – 09:45 – Warm-up
  • 09:45 – 10:45 – Qualifications & Finals
  • 11:00 – 11:15 – Results upload, validation & mini award ceremony
  • 11:15 – Departure of basketball team to Location B

Online Chess Tournament (Location B – Sportsite Schotte)

  • 09:15 – 09:45 – Setup & preparations
  • 09:45 – 10:45 – Online Chess Matches – Qualifications & Finals
  • 1:00 – 11:15 – Results upload, validation & mini award ceremony

12:00 – Group Lunch for all teams

Dragon Boat Race (Location B – Dender River, Sportsite Schotte)

  • 2:30 – 14:00 – Equipment Check (boats, paddles, life vests)
  • 14:00 – 16:00 – Dragon Boat Races (200 m – heats)
    o Teams 1, 2, and 3 will also participate in an additional friendly race out of
    competition

15:00 – Return to school (Teams 1 & 2 by bus, Team 3 by walking)
17:00 – 17:30 – Medals Ceremony & Final Podium

The Digital School Sport Day is more than just sport, it is a celebration of movement, inclusion,
and digital collaboration. Students will connect across schools, compete in multiple disciplines,
and share a spirit of teamwork and fair play.
